PARTS/TOOLSAcquire/Develop a list of all required parts, lubricants and accessories required to maintain the 1403. i. e. (Hydraulic fluid, # 6 oil, grease, type cleaning paper, ribbons, carriage tapes. Etc.).INSPECTION
We should take pictures throughout this process.
Visually inspect extra chains in the box.(lubricate and test after every thing else is running)
The 1403 control circuitry is in the 1401 and 1402 and is handled by the 1401/1402 specific teams.Remove exterior covers Remove safety covers Inspect/Clean/Check for wear (lubricate as necessary) Hydraulic unit space and skip armatures Forms feed drive Carriage tape drive Belts, motors, pulleys etc. Drive gears, shafts Chain Rotate all motors/shafts/gears by hand POWER.
Document exactly what is required to change to 240 volts and 60 cycle.GERMAN TRANSLATION.
By committee, decide which information labels should stay, get translated or get replaced. (I recommend we replace the front panel only, because it looks so bad. After all, it is a German machine.)POWER ON SEQUENCE
Insure power on the plugs are compatible with the motors in the 1403.
Replace safety covers.
Open T Casting.
Disable 1403 Power (switch at Left Rear).
Plug power cable and 2 shoe connectors.
Power Up the 1401.
Enable 1403 Power.
Close the T casting. Listen for proper chain speed. Check chain motor for heat.
Test manual spacing, forms check switches, etc.TEST PROCEDURE (Shoot bugs as they occur)
Program a space loop in 1401. (1,2,3) (No ribbon).
Check hydraulic unit for carriage start, stop, rebound and settle time.
Program a print loop In 1401. (Install ribbon)
Print a few characters.
Check ribbon movement and reverse
Run ripple print.
Test skip to 1,2,3,...
Check motors/chain for heat.
Replace covers.
Return machine to Customer. (CHM) ?PREVENTIVE MAINTAINCE
Document a plan for scheduled preventive maintaince.UNSCHEDULED MAINTAINCE
Document a plan for on going training and maintaince.SUPPLIES PROCUREMENT AND STORAGE
