1401 Donations
and long term loans - like forever
There have been a number of donations to the 1401 Project
Just gotta start recognizing them.
- Van Snyder sent about 4,000 IBM cards relevant to the 1401
- Robert Garner has showered us with (mostly working) vacuum tube scopes and carts ;-))
- Somebody in Morgan Hill? donated a 026 key punch, I gotta ask Frank King for details
- Ed Thelen bought a box of fan fold (continuous form) printer paper
- Over the months, Ron Williams has made and brought in
- rolly chairs of various heights
 - a pulpit or two for easy examination of the scriptures
sorry - I of course meant schematics, ALDs, and other holy writ.
 - various fanciful birds conceived, welded and painted with considerable talent
I would say artistic flair, except modern art seems to consist of poop and darts thrown about.
- On loan - good luck on getting anything back in one piece or working order
 - various tool kits from Ron Williams, Frank King, Allen Palmer, and ???
 - a Weller soldering setup from Randy Thelen
 - Set ups for forming electrolytic capacitor from Ron Williams & Ed Thelen
 - I think I've listed about half ...
 - Oh yes, two cunning little magnetic bowls for holding steel screws and stuff from Frank King
 - help ...
- On July 8, 2005, John Falk sent some "expendables", those items that
have a "short" lifetime, such as light bulbs that may be rated for
700 hours of use before expected failure. On restoration projects trying to get items such as these
can be a real problem.
- In September, Grant Saviers got us a proper capacitor checker, from Australia yet, and 25 1301 germanium transistors
- Paul Pierce shipped us a monster cable used to connect tape drives,
- being used to help make a tape channel tester.
Useful Stuff just keeps flowing in :-))
as Jackie Gleason used to say "How sweet it is!!"
